When I first was told about the new kajeet phone for tweens and teens, I was a little skeptical. That was until the Sanya Katana sleek blue cell phones arrived at my doorstep and my 13-year-old son immediately claimed it and my 14-year-old daughter exclaimed “how cool is this!” Now they both have better phones than I do!
The kajeet phone is great because it allows the parents the control of some of the earlier kid phones, but the downloads, features, and cool, sleek phones that tweens and teens like to have. Some of the best features include:
TimeManager: Parents and kids can set times when their kajeet phone can and can't be used. This feature can prevent your child's phone from ringing in the middle of the school day, or shut down the phone at 7:00 at night when homework becomes the main focus.
WalletManager: Each phone offers virtual "wallets" for you and your kids, allowing families to determine who pays for what. For example, you can have your child pay for texting or downloads, so that they learn how to be responsible with their phone use. This feature also makes sure important calls, like those from you, will always get through.
ContactManager: This feature enables families to decide who can call your child and who your child can call. By logging onto the kajeet site, you and your child can easily block anyone you do not wish to call or text your child's phone: from strangers to the bully in the hall.
FeatureManager: Decide what features such as IM, picture messaging, web browsing, or downloads your kid can use anytime with online management. kajeet offers a full array of voice, text, picture, and instant messaging services that allow on-the-go kids to stay connected and communicate in their own style.
So for all those parents who have tweens and pre-tweens (yes, as we know, they are clamoring for cell phones to!) check out kajeet in order to meet somewhere in the middle where we get the control we need to meet our technology concerns, but still declared completely cool by our kids!
WE LIVE IN MIAMI, FL AND MY TEENS HAVE METRO PCS WITH THIS COMPANY YOU PAY $50.00 A MONTH UNLITITED INCOMING OUTGOING AND TEXTING. SO THEY CAN BE ON THE PHONE 24/7 AND FOR MY 8 YR. OLD WE HAVE TRACPHONE THAT WE BUY THE MINUTES FOR THE CARD COST $25.00 AND THEY GET OVER 125 MIN. AND HE KNOWS THIS IS ONLY FOR IMERGENCY AND TO CALL MOM, DAD OR HIS BROTHERS & SISTERS HE IS NOT YET IN THE PHONE AGE WHERE THEY CAN NOT BREATH WITHOUT A PHONE SO HE IS JUST FINE WITH THIS. WE TRIED VERIZON WITH THE OLDER KIDS AND ALMOST HAD TO SKIP TOWN WHEN WE RECVD. THE BILL THEY HAD TALKED UP A MORTGAGE PAYMENT NO WAY VERIZON IS GREAT BUT FOR KIDS METRO PCS IS THE WAY TO GO.

My daughter has a pay as you go phone. I bought 200 minutes and told her it needed to only be used by her to call me. If she does not do this then I will take her phone away. She can use the house phone to call all of her friends when she gets home. She needs to start her homework within an hour of coming home and no more calls until homework is done. It seems to work.

My daughter was a beta tester for this phone and we liked it a lot!!!! She had the Nokia phone (which she didn't like after the Katana came out) but the premise behind the phones is wonderful!! It allows you to put a block on what time they can call which was great for late night owls. It also gives you exception rules for things like days off, vacations, and trips so the phone can be used at any time. Also the kids have a separate wallet than the parent. Each wallet can have different numbers attached. Which means when their wallet (which you add their friends #s) to is empty it doesn't get refilled until the auto refill goes through or mom/dad takes pity. My daughter got $25 a month! The parent wallet (which I added mom, dad and close family's home, cell and work numbers to) was set up to never go below $5. I also added my girlfriends to my wallet so if she needed to talk to someone or ask for a ride home for any reason she could reach out to any of them as well. Long story short she lost her phone (she says stolen) so we are debating getting another phone for her right now. If anyone wants to know anything else, post and I'll get back to you ASA I can!
